Chef de Partie
Morgan McWaters is our Chef de Partie and helps raise environmental awareness around responsibly harvested and sustainably sourced seafood. A two-time competitor in the Alabama Seafood Cook-off, Morgan was part of the winning team for first place at the 6th Annual Alabama Seafood Cook-off alongside our Executive Chef Scott Simpson in 2021.
Cooking since she was 21 years old and originally from Phenix City, AL, Morgan has always had an interest in cooking and learning about new cultures and world cuisines while focusing on regional foodways. Morgan has also worked on-site at famous cultural and culinary festivals including Gather ‘Round in Atlanta (a Southern Food & Arts Celebration) and the Charleston Wine + Food Festival. Pursuing her passion for the kitchen, Morgan decided to join The Depot to sharpen her skills and to learn more about sustainable seafood. As Chef de Partie at The Depot and training manager for kitchen staff, Morgan enjoys overseeing various prep stations and ensuring each plate that goes out to the dining room is perfect both in presentation and flavor profile.
